Villa Lydia is a newly built Villa, designed with a unique Paxinian flair. With stone walls and whole wood trunks above the windows, the villa is situated 2 km from Gaios on the road to Mongonissi just above Paxos Beach Hotel which has full services and has free acess for everybody. It is also close to the next beach “donkey’ ears ” which is more isolated. So you have 2 beaches just under the house. As you can see in the fotos the view is towards the island of Panagia (Santa Maria).
It has 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and a separate living room with its kitchen. The space between the 2 buildings is where the main table is and since it is in the shade all day we spent most of our time there. One of the bedrooms is situated under the pool level has 2 single beds and 1 sofa bed for 3 persons but has an outside bathroom. The other 3 are on the pool level and each has a double bed and their own bathrooms. The front master bedroom has also a JACUZZI inside its en-suite bathroom. The other front room apart from the double bed has also en extra sofa bed for one more person. So the villa can accomodate up to 10 persons.
It is a modest summer house set in one of the most suburb locations of the island. Perched on a lush slope that overlooks the harbor of Paxoi, this charming stone-built cottage creates the illusion of floating over the Ionian sea. The property is surrounded by beautiful olive, cypress and pine trees that add to the ultimately relaxing feel created by the seascape. The exterior is stone-paved and equipped with tasteful, hard-wood furnishings that accentuate the decked swimming pool area.
Perfectly attuned to the view, the interior is simple and easy-going, infusing a child-like quality that is found only in diminutive structures. Exceptionally large windows connect the inside to the outdoors, leaving the awe-inspiring view work its magic. The rooms are small and simply furnished, mostly with pieces that can withstand the summer life, the renters and the salt air.
The house is divided in two separate units and a third separate bedroom. One includes the living room and kitchen and the other the two bedrooms. The living room is modest in size, with hard-wood ceilings and views that extend all the way from the decked veranda to the Ionian expanse. The kitchen is surprisingly spacious for such a small lot, and is fully equipped for home cooking. The bedrooms are petite, yet neat and inviting. The decoration here, too, is basic, yet the view fully compensates for the lack of ornamentation and space.
